“El Niño is a distraction’: Why Europe’s deadly heatwave isn’t down to a natural weather phenomenon”

The Preppers who think they might have their finger on Britain’s climate pulse are all over the El Niño, because they can avoid mentioning climate change and losing all their subscribers.

Europe, part of which is Southern England, is part of the European Heat Dome event currently taking place, which isn’t the Super El Niño. “This is a classic jet-stream blocking event acting on a record-warm background. The dome is the mechanism; long-term warming is the amplifier; El Niño is a distraction.”

The El Niño primary impact area is the Tropics, Australia, Central and South America in the short term and the UK and the rest of Europe later in the Year. El Niño is an oscillation; it comes and goes, sometimes strong, sometimes weak. The La Niña and El Niño cycles heat in the Pacific, its immediate impact is on the Pacific Rim. Climate change on the other hand, is constant, and the heating is consistently increasing hotter year on year. For example, 26 May 2026, the first-ever UK Wet Bulb Temperature in May! That was too early for El Niño, and most preppers either didn’t mention it at the time because it points to anthropogenic climate change.

“Climate change on the contrary gets worse as long as we do not stop burning fossil fuels. So climate change is the reason to freak out.”

“El Niño is underway and threatens weather extremes, scientists say“- BBC

“El Niño – the natural Pacific weather pattern that pushes up global temperatures – has officially begun, US scientists say.

The US National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) has declared that El Niño conditions are now underway in the tropical Pacific, with sea surface temperatures having risen sharply in recent months.

Many forecasts suggest this could end up as a so-called “super” El Niño, and even be among the strongest ever recorded.

Coming on top of decades of human-caused warming, it could bring another record-hot year – most likely in 2027 – with disruption to weather, food supplies and economies running well into that year.”

The Cognitive Dissonance in Palpable

The denial of both Climate Change by most preppers and Wet Bulb Temperatures above 22C-Twb by UK climate scientists. A fundamental inability to understand risk and communicate it effectively, based on either ultra-conservatism or a far-right political ideology, which cannot entertain man-made climate change as a concept.

Confirmation bias could mean risks are missed
